With back to school right around the corner, we’ve been on vacation for the last week with some family fun times. I’m completely exhausted and can feel a cold coming on, I could really use a vacation from the vacation! With everything going on; the end of summer camps, back to school preparations, vacation with the kids….. we managed to fit in adult time with friends.
We took a bus tour through Ontario Vineland, Niagara on the Lake. Nothing says relax and unwind like a wine tour!
First stop Reif Estate Winery.
Second stop was a food market. My thought, “but we just started”! Apparently the tour has had some really drunk individuals (on a wine tour, no way?) that they now make sure you’ve eaten before you continue wine tasting!
This market had some wonderful jams and sodas and an old world feel, but being the home reno people we are we were checking out the building! The roof structure is identical to our house, minus the fancy duct work and horizontal beams.
Next stop Joseph’s Estate Winery. While wine tasting the power went out, all that was missing were the candles!
The third winery on the tour was Konzelmann Estate Winery, this one was on the lake and had stunning views. Too bad I didn’t bring my camera, all I had was my phone!
Lastly Diamond Estate Winery, apparently the largest in the area. Below is the gift shop.
Overall it was an enjoyable day with great friends. I would definitely do it again, minus the full bus load of people and tack on a meal and a quaint bed and breakfast, sounds like it’s got anniversary written all over it!
And whats Niagara with out a view of the Falls.
Recovering from vacation is the worst part… especially a busy one like you had. Looks fun. And the falls, as always, are astonishing. Love the night shot.
I’m still recovering, got sick from what I can only attribute to exhaustion! It was good times, I highly recommend it!
What fun, you guys! A nice change of pace for you. Wine tasting beats slaving away in the heat any day. I’ve always wanted to go on a wine tasting… …. love the reds! (sigh)
Niagra is a given. You had to do that. Lovely photos all the way around.
And of all days it was a really HOT one, totally glad that we were not working outside! Oh, you gotta go on a wine tasting, makes for a romantic date 😉 (book a small tour or a couples one)
